Thank you for coming to the 2008 IT Open House, where IT Services teamed up with Sustainable IT and Campus Wide Agreements to explore our common goal of "Getting to Green: IT Paths to Sustainability at Stanford."

This year's event brought together technology services from all over campus and vendors from across the Bay Area into one exhibition hall, plus a speaker series on sustainable IT practices.

Highly rated by faculty, staff, and students as time well spent, the annual IT Open House can show you not only how to take advantage of a wealth of technology services, but also what's happening in sustainable technology now and in the future.

Presenters at the event discussed how you can:

  • Save your department and yourself money on computer equipment
  • Make smart purchases with hardware lifecycle planning in mind
  • Download free or discounted software through Stanford programs
  • Use new WorkAnywhere tools to cut transportation costs and flex your schedule
  • Conduct virtual meetings
  • Use convergent technologies, like iPhone, at Stanford (and recycle your desk phone)
  • Access Stanford's online resources while traveling
  • Protect your computer from viruses and spyware
  • Promote energy savings by power-managing your computer
  • Much more!

We hope to see you again next year!
